Pintail Drake Duck Decoy by Gene Travers

A full size drake Pintail wooden duck decoy made by Gene Travers. Gene was from Hoopers Island Maryland. Born in 1928 and passed in 2012. He built 75 Chesapeake Bay workboats in his long career. He was also know for making wooden shafts that hand tongers use for oystering. It has a cracked neck as shown in the photo's. It is in original paint and signed on the bottom. It has painted eyes ans shows wear from hunting. I have added a photo of Gene with some of his decoys outside his shop. The photo is not included in the auction.
