Paul Gibson Canada Goose Decoy from Havre de Grace MD
Exceptional Paul Gibson (1902–1984) Canada Goose Decoy from Havre de Grace MD. Original paint and used hunting condition.
A fine example of a Paul Gibson Canada goose decoy, carved in Havre de Grace, Maryland, circa 1955 –1965. Gibson, a noted Upper Bay maker, produced rugged working decoys with distinctive rounded bodies, short necks, and utilitarian paint patterns.
This decoy retains original paint, with attractive surface wear consistent with gunning use. The form is classic Gibson—broad‑chested, well‑balanced, and immediately recognizable among Havre de Grace carvers.
A standout piece for collectors of Chesapeake Bay waterfowling history, Maryland folk art, or traditional goose rigs.
