Oyster Crock John Loveitt & Co. Portland Maine

A antique oyster crock from John Loveitt & Co. Fish Dealer in Portland Maine.
John Loveitt was born in 1809 and died in 1890. It looks to be a half gallon size as it stands about 8 inches tall. This is the early and hard to find stoneware oyster jar. It would have had a wooden plug for a top that is now missing. It is in very nice condition. It would display gre at with your oyster can collection, country store display or stoneware grouping.
