Vintage Maryland Forest Warden Sign – Dept. of Forests & Parks. An Embossed Metal Fire - Chesapeake Bay Conservation tin sign.

This is an authentic, hard to find mid century Maryland Forest Warden sign, issued by the State of Maryland – Dept. of Forests & Parks between 1941 and 1969. These embossed metal signs were installed at designated fire reporting stations throughout rural Maryland, where local residents could contact their Forest Warden to report smoke or wildfire activity. Featuring raised lettering, classic green and white enamel paint, and the iconic FOREST WARDEN – REPORT FOREST FIRES HERE text, this sign represents an important era in Maryland’s conservation and wildfire prevention history. It’s a rare surviving example of state issued forestry signage from a department that no longer exists making it a standout piece for collectors of Chesapeake Bay history, park service memorabilia, and mid century Americana. It looks to have never been used. It looks to be from the 1950's. It is one sided. Measures about 15 inches long and 10 inches tall and is embossed.
