Herters Eider Duck Decoy

Herters wooden carved, drake Eider duck decoy. 
Made by the Herters Decoy Co. in Waseca, MN. Model 1893 series full size drake Eider sea duck.
It is unstamped.  It has relief wing carving. Original paint with minor discoloration and wear. All wooden and individually painted. Has glass eyes. It measures 18 inches long, 6 1/2 inches tall and 7 inches wide.
They were made in the late 1960's  into the early 1970's.

"In 1937 Goerge Herter took his father's  dry goods store and turned it into a mail order outdoor goods  business, selling. hunting and fishing items through a catalog. He later opened retail outlet stores, which pioneered the style of outdoor goods stores now operated by Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops. The company went bankrupt in 1981."
