A classic Canvasback Duck Decoy by Doug Jester (1876-1961). A beautiful Canvasback hunting decoy made by Doug Jester from Chincoteague Virginia. Mr. Jester is one of Chincoteague's most recognizable decoy carvers. The decoy is in very good original condition. Mr. Jester lived his entire life on Chincoteague Island. He was a waterman, hunting guide and decoy maker by trade. Canvasbacks are a harder to find species by Mr. Jester. A true piece of eastern shore folk art.
